Rule breakers-Coco chanel

Coco Chanel is the fashion designer and the founder of Chanel,a france fashion brand.Chanel was known for her lifelong determination, ambition and energy which she applied to her professional and social life. She achieved both success as a businesswoman and social prominence thanks to the connections she made through her work.Her simple but sophisticated garments were a radical departure from the stiff corseted styles of the day.I love the way she work things out.She's my rule breaker because even though there's world war 2,she still commit to her work and still passionate for fashion though the hard times of getting the materials and garments.

She's an idol to me because she has the motto of 'never say never'.

Rule breakers-Etro

The family business,Etro is a rule breaker to me.
Etro is an Italian fashion house  that produces textiles, home decor and perfumes. Founded in 1968 by Gimmo Etro, it remains to this day a family business as mention.Where i got to know about this brand is when i was doing my O level art,fashion.I searched about fashion and other brands designers.I find that this brand interesting and the design are very complicated and gives a fashion mode of art rather than a mode of expression.I inspire how 4 siblings can communicate with each other and accept opinions from each other and could have the same direction to reaching their goal.The designer for the etro women's wear is Veronica Etro.Veronica etro designs were so feminine and the designs are suitable for all women ages to wear.I got to know that etro's inspiration is paisley.I also love paisley designs and that's why i love Etro.Kean etro was in charge of the menswear.His design were so slick and neat.Jacapo Etro manages textiles,leathers goods and home collections.Ippolito is the CEO of the Etro Fashion company.Basically to summarise why Etro is a rule breaker to me is because it is a family business consist of 4 siblings that have the same Interest for fashion.

I have five siblings but none of us have the same interest for fashion.

I would want to work close at Etro,paris so as to add to one of their family members.

I love their style and someday,i could be one of their business partners for fashion shows.(HOPEFULLY):)

I capture this picture from an art book.

I've choose this work because i feel that the work is very interesting as it is an exploration with birds and instruments.i also like the way she choose the crafting techniques.

She chooses silkscreening as her crafting techniques.

 What was not so good about this artwork is that,the work is too dull and dark.

She should have applied some bright colours.

What i want to apply to my clothes,is colours and also,i want to apply silk screening technique in my artwork too. 

which i need to learn how to use it so that i can use it to do my design on clothes.

I captured this picture from an art book.

I feel that this artwork is good especially it's colouring because it give different texture and balance.

I don't really like the way the artiste express her feelings.

I think the lady in this artwork should give an angry or insecure expression.

I should learn oil painting on canvas and also different kind of medium so as to make my preparatory board  with variety of mediums.

I should work more on my wet medium techniques as i'm not really familiar using it.

More than an eye can see-Creative Thinking

Different textures,balance and not just focusing on one object that's what i see in this artwork.

I like the way the artiste present the artwork as we can see the object in a different way.

The textures and the balance of objects went well because in some angle the cabbage look like a flower  and at some angle it looked like onions.

I edited the picture with lines because in order to see every element in this picture we have to cut or slice is up to parts to see the whole picture.

I can use this concept on my fashion design so that people can see things differently.

Thinking caps-Creative Thinking

I found this in an art book.The title of this art work is Thinking caps.

Why i choose to capture this picture in this book because i find it interesting as the sculpture on the lady head has  a mixture of small elements and big.It reminds me of the 2d fundamentals class.where the bigger objects consist of small elements in it.I feel that the artwork needs hard work and time.The artwork on her head reminds me of a top hat.The small elements went well with the airplane.

Since the title of the artwork is thinking caps why not change the small elements into small caps and the bigger cap would be at the top!

I should work on small elements in my design when i go through my major course.

Less lines with creative designs-Creative Thinking

Today i had 3D fundamentals and i learn about lines,different kind of lines.

That's not the point.The point is that this design that the model is wearing definitely

a very creative fashion design as it only use less lines than the other clothes and it only use 2 types of material to do a simple yet nice clothes probably suitable for a night partying.

The colours of the design went well because it creature different medium and textures.

I also like the hair of the model was styled.It created a parting mood or rather a rock and roll feeling.

The hairstyle reminds me of Amy winehouse hairstyle.

The tops of the design is a bit dull and boring.Maybe the design could have been better if the designer put a bit of beads on the clothing.

I should work on more to Lesser lines to create a design and probably do design similar to this or even better.

I took this picture from the magazine.

I find this picture interesting because i feel that the set up and location is interesting because usually models would be standing with a plain background or garden as the model is wearing a wedding dress.

This picture gives me a different feel of photography.

The person who planned the location definitely wants to combine the culture of Singapore with the western side.

The photography gives a warm feeling as the colours are bright and i feel amazed by just looking at it.

The set up was well done and the model looked confident with what she's wearing.

From this photography,i find it artistic and cultural.

The combination of two different culture went well as this photographer broke the rules of photography.It inspired me to do photography as well.

The photography should have done differently by adding different races of models to feel the mode of multi-racial in Singapore probably a different place.

I will look forward in doing this type of photography when i'm doing my major course(fashion design).

Hope-Creative Thinking

The theme for this week would be CREATIVE THINKING.After kelvin's lesson,i was wondering what picture i should get.What concept i should get and this is it.The concept is HOPE.So after class,i went to the nearest museum near our school,exhibited by dream catches.It was free admission though.It was from the NUH department.So the artworks were from kids that have dissability.I capture a picture of this.These are appreciation and encouragement notes from visitors to the patients that did the artworks in the museum.Some of the notes were hung through hooks and most of the notes were clipped to the shutter stock and i thought it was creative and out of the box.The art piece tells me that the shutter stock may represent the lifeline that the patients needs as the notes were clipped to the shutter stock.The person who came out with this idea is creative!Because since the whole idea of this artwork is about skills and hope for patients and also relating to hospital,who would have thought to have notes hang with the shutter stock!Normal thinker would just put a table and visitors would just leave the notes there.So in this picture,i learn to be creative by using different materials in an artwork with a purpose.For this artwork,the purpose is to gather as much notes as possible with creative designs to invite people to do the notes thus this,would give more encouragement to the patients in NUH.An artwork that connect people giving encouragement and mutual respect to the disability's.The artwork could have been better in terms of creativity.In my opinion they should have made the tube into a word such as HOPE or BELIEVE.This will attract more visitors to write down their encouragement notes to the disability's.
