This is my drawing fundamentals final work.I used different material to relate and send a message about  fashion.I put letters and pictures to create an artwork and always strings and cloth to make more 3D like.So this artwork is based on forced connection for fashion.

I did this designs 3 years ago.3 years ago,i went to join the student care centre to join this club called nyaa.In this club i did recreation activity such as sports and also arts.

3 years ago i fell in love with a guy i was about to give this cup as a present but because things just don't go the way it should be,i kept the cup as a memory to the relationship. This cup is called,

a cup of loves.

You need water to survive but i need him to love.

the object is a glass cup and i relate it with love.

So the object has it meaning to it.

This is forced connection.

Forced connection can be related to relationship in terms of relationships with family,friends and someone special.Having 2 or more persons in a relationship is a forced connection because it needs commitment,trust and love to build up the relationship into the next level.

The whole class went Singapore Arts museum to find pictures of artworks that is related with forced connection.So i snap this microphone and Microphone stand which is made from glass.The forced connection in this artwork is music and noise.

What is forced connection?

Force connection is the art of combining.

This picture above is the first exercise that we did for force connection.

We were given a slide and we need to combine 1 material with one subject.For example,i combined plug with sad(the subject) so,i wrote sad plug.

Why i wrote sad plug because we always use plug to charge our phones or other devices.The plug will be sad because we use it for one purpose to charge our devices not for other purpose.

What have i learn from this?

I have learn that we have to do forced connection for any kinds of artwork.

So his quotes is an inspiration for me to work in a creative way or rather out of the box, live life with a mission or a purpose.

My answer would be an old lady because she looks as if she is about to die and she is alone.What happen is she fainted at the middle of nowhere with this kind of whether?I can give an umbrella to my old friend and i can wait my perfect partner that i have been dreaming about at the bus stop after sending the old lady home and probably call my old friend to check on her.

I was working for 3 days this week,i was wondering why does the company i'm working with have to display the lockers like this??why must it be so neat???why must be all be the same colour?
Why must it be the same shape?Why must it the same shapes?So i was wondering,if i could be the designer for the lockers,i would changed it's shape,i would make it into a triangle shaped locker because i think triangle is a cool shape and also,the colours of the lockers would be bright or some might be cool colours.

Every single morning or afternoon or evening in TRAIN,i will experience lots of different smell it's either body odours or FARTS.Yes,i was wondering what people eat till the smell is unbearable.I fart too but the question is how harmful is our fart?People would normally say,fart can cause you mental distraction and sometimes headache or cause of hatred to the farter.yes,it's true.But in terms of thinking laterally,i would say,fart's are hot air so it rises.Since we breathe from below,we could breathe in air no matter what because we need oxygen.So will we be able to breathe upwards and prolong the breathing of fartation?haha,no.

Sometimes i think, i don't think.Math was hard for me to handle since i start learning math.I actually did  this when i was in secondary school and actually doodled a face in the 0 mark.Yea,math was never a best friend to me.When i think back about my old days in secondary school,i used alot of lateral thinking.Firstly,it would be this math problem and the 'solution',science drawing out a plot but i doodled small flowers by the side of each line.I was really bad at both subjects that i actually create an 'artwork' for the whole lesson.Since lateral thinking is about thinking out of the box,well why not i share my embarrassing lateral thinking experience.

This is an image that i took from a website on Qing Dynasty head dressing during 19th century.

I love how the 19th  century head dressing is designed.It looks like a hat but in a opposite way.The graphics in 19th century is so traditional.I wonder if the designer of the head dressing in Qing dynasty think of what i said earlier,maybe,he/she got the idea from a hat but then morphed it into something else.This is called lateral thinking.

What is lateral thinking?

Lateral thinking is about how we think out of the box,ability to think creatively,involves discarding the obvious,leaving behind the traiditional modes of thought,throwing away preconception,use imagination and solve probelms by looking at them from unexpected perspectives.

Edward De Bono is a writer and he wrote books  on how to think for  methods to government agencies, corporate clients, organizations and individuals, privately or publicly in group sessions.

'it's better enough ideas for some of them to be wrong than to always be right having no ideas at all'

I like this quote of his.He taught us the definition of ideas.

'a thought or suggestion as to possible course of action'

Ideas are just ideas,it does not define right or wrong.

So in this context,i learn that having enough ideas is good because i can choose the best three to the best idea.

I would like to do this to anything that related to some thinking process.

What is life?Some people see it as having  friends,family and work/career is life.But some people look in other way,physical,emotional and spiritual.To me life is about having joy,sadness,(emotions)

How to avoid love?Simple.

1)Avoid flirting

avoid yourself from talking too much with him and start to look at each other.

2)Start calling them friend.

This will remind you not to fall for him.

3)Discover why you keep falling in love with them

For example,the way he treat nicely to every girls?something like that?

4)Avoid hanging out with them by yourself

5)Distance yourself from that person

Give reasons why you shouldn't be in love or be close to them.

Because your parents don't allow you to be in a r/s?something like that.

6)Find reasons why you won't love them.

Because of religious issues?

Family issues?

Race issues?

7)Keep them out if your head

(which is not possible if you can't control your emotions)

We can't control from falling to someone but we can control our own doings.

So i'm 18 years old this year.I love art especially fashion and i would like to explore different kinds of arts before i start my career.I want to experience every kinds of arts if possible.My ambition is to be a famous fashion designer like coco chanel,Jacqueline Durran and Veronica Etro or even Victor and rolf.

To me,Women's fashion is about how abstract,create a different way to look beautiful.The way u dress and cat walk.It gives different perspective in every different things we do.For example if a lady walks like a man,than common will tell us that she's the rough kind of lady.So i believe,women's fashion is about how they expresses themselves in clothes and walk.

What do i know about men's fashion?Well,actually,i think men's fashion would be classic,sleek and elegant.Men's garments are simple and not abstract as women's garments.Men's garments are graceful and stylist and at the end of the day,i love how the quality of men's garments product were designed.

Time is Essential.This is because time helps us to check on our time management of our daily tasks and it set us a goal to achieve something the end of a day.Some times we don't treasure time wisely.Back in my secondary school days,i was in secondary 2 and i didn't attend CCA at all because i went out with my friend's house and slacked there.Yea,i regretted it a lot because my points were deducted a lot.I realised that now the time moves so fast without us realising.So,we should do something even for a minute.

So our first lesson we did mind mapping about love.What is love to us?What and who we love in our lives.So i wrote 5 ideas.I wrote family,food,hobbies,friends and relationships.I love my family but sometimes i hate them but no matter how bad the situation is,my family will always be there for me.I just can't just leave them nor can't they leave me.I love food,food is important to me of course only halal food i eat haha.Hobbies!soccer.I've always loves playing soccer when i was younger.Now that i'm into art i got no time for that,but the love for soccer is forever in my heart.So love is something we can't let go of.Something that is,unavoidable.Friends,sometimes,they used jokes to criticise others and sometimes they don't know the limit for jokes,

What i should do with 3 pictures for my artwork?

This is my artworks for drawing fundamentals.

I have 1 character,1background and something to add on before morphing.

Brainstorming for this artwork is not easy as it requires alot of thinking and ideas to create a story so as to score high for the drawing fundamentals presentation this week.

It's hard to find time to do my assignments this week due to the hari raya celebration but nothing is not going to stop me from doing art.

It took me a few hours today to think about what i should for my final work.

I thought of doing a morph related to hari raya celebration too.

This is my 'best' 3D study model.

I am very weak in this subject because it requires alot of energy and alot of time to finish up a good work.

This is definitely the worse 3D,but i know i can do better.

It took me more than a day to think how i should do for my final work.

I need another solid day to finish up my final work.

Till now i brainstorm on how i want my model to be like.

I need create more than 10 ideas to pick the best one,hopefully i can finish up on dateline.

I was not sure myself.I only do freely without any reference.

I only used one kind of material that is the straw.

This is my first time using with chinese ink and i thought i did great for this.

How do i divide my time with school works and assignments?

I'm going to start work next friday.

I'm doomed.

My goal is to achieve at least C for all modules or higher.

What is brainstorming?Brainstorming is to produce an idea or solving a problem by holding a spontaneous group discussion.

Today's creative thinking lesson we did a group discussion on brainstorming and the topic that we did was 'send a message'

I have learn that we can think of any ideas.

Rule breakers-Viktor and Rolf

Victor and Rolf is and armsterdam-based fashion house. The company was founded in 1993 by designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren .Both individuals met at the Academy of Art and Design in The Netherlands.Both of them studies fashion and from there,they made a decision to collaborate and be a team.Their theme for their first collection is distortion.Nevertheless,i love the designs of the garments and the way both of them design the clothes.The clothes were all interesting and some of them even look like birds,look at this work(above).It look like wings of a bird in a way.

Why i choose Viktor and Rolf because i feel that both individuals made a good team work to create such abstract designs.I hope to explore more about the brand and hopefully it would help me improve my knowledge in fashion design.

Rule breakers-Frank Gehry

Frank Gehry is an Architecture.Frank Gehry is a Canadian American.He was a creative child, he was encouraged by his grandmother, Mrs. Caplan, with whom he would build little cities out of scraps of wood.He would spend time drawing with his father and his mother introduced him to the world of art. "So the creative genes were there", Gehry says. "But my mother thought I was a dreamer, I wasn't gonna amount to anything. It was my father who thought I was just reticent to do things. He would push me.Why i choose him as my rule breaker because he made cool buildings.This picture up there is one example.He designed this building in Las vegas.He designed this building in a creative way.I love his artwork and i hope to explore different kind of ways to solving things out when i'm doing my major,fashion studies.

Rule breaker-Lady gaga

Lady gaga is an American singer-songwriter, record producer, activist, businesswoman, fashion designer and actress. Born and raised in New York City.To me Lady gaga is a brave lady.She wears what she would want to wear and she's not afraid what might people think about her.I am not fan for Gaga but i am impress how she made people to actually love her through her music and fashion.In the earlier days she was definitely not rich.She stated this in the biology "I left my entire family, got the cheapest apartment I could find, and ate shit until somebody would listen,"She had gone a lot of experience.Gaga's musical inspiration was Madonna and david bowie.Why is she my rule breaker because she is confident in whatever she does.She wore unbelievable clothes which is pretty to her and that is designed by her with confident.Yes,she is my rule breaker and i wish to be as confident and brave as her,one day.

Rule breakers-Richard Deacon

Richard Deacon is from bangor.He's a sculptor.I got to know him from 3D fundamentals lesson,artist reference.
Deacon's work is abstarct, but often alludes to anatomical functions. His works are often constructed from everyday materials such as laminated plywood, and he calls himself a "fabricator" rather than a "sculptor". His early pieces are typically made up of sleek curved forms, with later works sometimes more bulky.
I love the ideas of his sculptures.Different angle of the sculpture add up a different excitement.This is why Richard Deacon the sculptor is my rule breaker.

Pablo Picasso is a spanish painter,sculptor,printmaker,ceramicist and stage designer.
He is known as the co-founding cubic movement and the invention of constructed sculpture.He co-invention of collage and for the wide variety of styles that he helped develop and explore.He is my rule breaker because he explore with different types of art forms and i feel that he's really passionate in whatever he does with art.
